Stefano Zanobini, born in Florence, studied viola with Piero Farulli at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Nobuko Imai at Musikhochschule Detmold and Hans Kohlhase at Musikhochschule Nürnberg.
Interested in historical performing he also attended masterclasses with Jordi Savall and Tom Koopman.
He is the principal viola of the Orchestra della Toscana and founder of Ensemble Alraune.
He also performed in chamber music with Andrea Lucchesini, Maxim Vengerov, Andrea Tacchi, Lorenza Borrani, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Anna Fusek, Quartetto Prometeo, Quartetto di Cremona.
Zanobini is the leader of two long term projects for Novantiqua: "Musica & Regime" and "Tuscania", both projects have a very original and intense chamber music vocation including programs form Solo to String Sextet.
