Passi Sparsi

PassiSparsi is a vocal ensemble primarily dedicated to Italian secular music of the XVI century. The four founding members - Martha, Cora, Neri and Lorenzo - research a modern approach to early music performance, in which the overall sound and staging emerges from the enhancement of the personality, imagination, creative individuality, vocal and physical uniqueness of each individual component. All the projects of PassiSparsi are thus created with the objective to entertain and engage a very diverse audience.

Finalist in Premio delle Arti 2021 edition, and winner of Attraverso i Suoni competition in 2022, PassiSparsi was selected in 2022 as a young promise by IYAP (International Young Artist’s Presentation) of Antwerp. Since 2023 PassiSparsi is in the TALENT section of AMUSART.

The ensemble performed in Latvia and Lithuania (for Early Music in Latvia), in Belgium (Festival Laus Polyphoniae), and participated in various Italian early music festivals such as Monteverdi Festival, FloReMus, Concerti al Cenacolo, Festival Toscana di Musica Antica, I luoghi dello spirito e del tempo, Lucca Classica, La stagione del Cocomero.

The ensemble collaborated with L’Homme Armé, Cappella di Santa Maria degli Angiolini , ethnomusicologist Gianfranco Salvatore and composer Damiano Ferretti.

Since 2020 the ensemble has passionately devoted itself to the valorization of Vincenzo Galilei’s music, a passion that started with a fortunate collaboration with Museo Galileo (Florence) on Vincenzo’s five-hundredth anniversary. The ensemble then created its own web-series “Vincenzo Galilei, le musiche, i luoghi. Echi di un genio Toscano”, with the collaboration of Museo Galileo (Florence) and Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini. A few video recordings of Vincenzo’s madrigal by PassiSparsi are now part of a permanent exhibit dedicated to Vincenzo in his hometown, Santa Maria a Monte (Pisa).
