Elena Bianchi took her final certificate for baroque bassoon at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique of Geneva (Switzerland) with Lorenzo Alpert and at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan (Italy) with Alberto Grazzi. Previously she took a diplome for recorder in Bologna with Giorgio Pacchioni, and a master degree in musicology at Bologna University.
Elena's culture and experience as active musician are very usefull in the label manager activity for NovAntiqua.
She played in the European Union Baroque Orchestra, touring in many European countries with directors as Ton Koopman and Roy Goodman and plays dulcian, baroque and classical bassoon in Italy and abroad working with many different groups such as Concerto Italiano (Rinaldo Alessandrini), the Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble (Thomas Hengelbrock), Academia Montis Regalis ( Alessandro De Marchi), Le Concert des Nations (Jordi Savall), La Risonanza (Fabio Bonizzoni), Concerto Koeln, Accademia Bizantina (Ottavio Dantone), La Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini (Antonio Florio), Ensemble Aurora (Enrico Gatti).
Elena recorded for many European broadcast and labels such as Opus 111, Deutsche Grammophon, Tactus, La Bottega Discantica, Emi Classics, Amadeus, Dynamics, Brilliant, Glossa.
Elena Bianchi has been teacher for baroque bassoon at the Conservatorio "A. Pedrollo" in Vicenza, the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan (Italy), the Haute École de Musique de Genève (Switzerland). She also teaches baroque bassoon and chamber music in courses and masterclasses in Italy and abroad, in particular at the Early Music Courses of F.I.M.A. in Urbino.
