Tobias Hume as "jingle" for the "Between Brush and Pillory" Podcast!
We are delighted to announce that the music from our album A Question | An Answer has been selected as the official introduction music for the new German podcast, "Zwischen Pinsel und Pranger (Between Brush and Pillory)."
This podcast, a compelling project from the Art History Department at the University of Hamburg, explores the fascinating intersection of art and morality in Early Modern Italy. It delves into the lives of renowned artists from the 15th to 17th centuries, examining how their personal lives and behaviors clashed with the moral standards of their time. The series asks a timeless question: can we separate the art from the artist?
The podcast features our recording of "A Merry Meeting" by Tobias Hume, performed by Stefano Zanobini on the viola d’amore.
Zwischen Pinsel und Pranger is a teaching project led by Dr. Jana Graul of the University of Hamburg and is supported by L.I.S.A. Gerda Henkel Stiftung, Claussen-Simon-Stiftung and Hamburg Research Academy.
It's an honor to have our music featured in a project expolring complexities of art history. We invite you to listen and explore the series: https://lisa.gerda-henkel-stiftung.de/podcastreihe_zwischen_pinsel_und_pranger
